Location Characteristics:
The North or locally known as "Border Gate" as it is
the cross border town or the gateway to mainland China in the
northern most boundary of the Macau peninsula. Traditionally,
it is the working class housing area or immigrant settlement interspersed
with industrial buildings. However, the area has gradually been
improved by the development of modern residential estates. This
is the area where the entrance/toll gate of the future Hong Kong-Zhuhai-
Macau Bridge is nearby which will connect Macau to Hong Kong and
the Pearl River Delta. By which time the travelling time to Hong
Kong will be greatly reduced. Also there will be station nearby
for the future Light-Rail Transit. Presently, it just takes about
15 minutes to Airport and 10 minutes to New ferry Terminal and
City centre. Locally, it is known as "Pearl Oriental"
for its future prosperity.
